Stitch Hoop

A tap-to-plan embroidery puzzle, one stitch at a time. Four thread trays sit around the hoop and every needle sweeps only its own side. Tap a colored needle and it stitches the first matching square it meets; leftovers wait on a 5-slot pincushion, and a full pincushion means you are stuck. One thumb is enough and a picture takes 30 seconds to a few minutes.

How to play

The front two needles of each tray can be tapped (press and hold to preview where they will stitch). A tapped needle sweeps along its side and stitches the matching squares it meets. A needle that cannot stitch goes to the pincushion, and when all 5 slots are full you are stuck. When stuck you can undo or use a hint. Fill the cloth and the picture is revealed as a framed embroidery.

Which side, which needle

The trays are on four sides and each needle only sweeps its own side, so the same color can give very different results depending on which needle you pick. Three special needles (Twin, Corner and Round) join the game one by one. Looking a few taps ahead is the fun.

5 worlds, 100 pictures

100 pictures in five cloth worlds: cotton, ramie, hemp, silk and gold thread, growing from 8x8 to 16x16 grids. Korean folk motifs such as the magpie, tiger cub, moon jar and persimmon come with a short note on what they mean in Korean folk art.

Today's picture and Free Stitch

Today's picture is set by the date, so everyone gets the same one. Free Stitch is the endless mode where no picture repeats. There is no server and no sign-up.

The wall and looks

Finished embroideries hang on your wall. Coins buy 24 looks for needles, cloths, frames and the pincushion, and there are 28 medals. There are no random draws or loot boxes, and nothing to pay for to progress.

Are there ads?

The web version on this site has no ads in the game. Only the intro pages may show ads.

Do I need to install or sign up?

No. It runs in your phone or PC browser. Your stars, coins, looks and wall are saved in that browser.

Which languages does the game support?

12 languages: Korean, English, Japanese, Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), Spanish, Portuguese (Brazil), German, French, Indonesian, Thai and Vietnamese. It follows your browser language and can be switched in the settings.

Who made the art and sound?

Some of the pictures (33 campaign and Daily pictures) were made with generative AI (Google Gemini), then reduced to the stitch grid and checked one by one by our Js. The other pictures are pixel art drawn by our Js or composed by code. The needles, cloths, frames and interface are drawn in code, and all sound effects and music are synthesized in code. Fonts are Gowun Batang, Gowun Dodum, Lora, Nunito, Shippori Mincho B1, Noto Serif SC, Noto Serif TC, Noto Serif Thai (SIL Open Font License).

Is there a mobile app?

Android and iOS apps are in preparation. We will say so on this page when they are out.
